Made To Measure Suits
Beyond the overall quality, a made-to-measure suit offers its wearer an exceptional fit, carefully designed to compliment his body shape.
Made-to-measure suits are a notch above ready-to-wear, but not as expensive and time consuming as a bespoke suit.
Rather than creating a suit from scratch, clients are fitted from a selection of sample suit jackets and trousers and/or detailed measurements are taken.
A garment is tailored for their body type, from fabric and detail options of their choice; flap, patch, or besom pockets; working buttonholes; pleated or non-pleated trousers, etc.
Made-to-measure suits can accommodate special-request details, such as, uneven shoulders, high waist, and large extended bellies.
Expect to pay $2,000 and up for a well-constructed made-to-measure suit. Always ask how some maker defines made-to-measure. Some made-to-measure suits can be as much as 60 percent hand made: others are only 5 percent and would be categorized as an altered off-the-rack suit.
